What transportation apps are commonly used in Cambodia?

Grab and PassApp are the leading transportation apps in Cambodia, providing convenient booking for tuk-tuks and taxis. These apps are especially helpful when traveling around major cities.

For a safer experience, we suggest using the Grab app. If you’re unfamiliar with the area or local pricing, avoid flagging down taxis or tuk-tuks on the street.

Traveling by car is generally more comfortable due to the hot climate, offering air conditioning and a smoother ride. Tuk-tuks are a fun and cheaper alternative, although they can be hot. They are a very affordable way to commute for shorter distances. However, when riding in tuk-tuks, be sure not to place valuables near the sides or within reach of the road to ensure the safety of your belongings.

For transportation between the airport and the city center, we recommend using cars, as it can take about 1 hour, give or take, during peak hours. This option also offers greater comfort and space for luggage.

Is there a special event for VVIP delegates at CIBE2024?

Yes, if you purchase the VVIP delegate ticket (the highest-tier ticket), you are invited to a special sub-event on May 10, 2024. This sub-event is a private breakfast with John C. Maxwell at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, located at #55, Street 178, Sangkat Chey Chumnas, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 12206. The breakfast starts at 7:30 AM.

How do I know if I have access to both events?

If your ticket or purchase confirmation mentions both the “CIBE2024 Expo Full Delegate Pass 10-12 May 2024” and the “John C. Maxwell Leadership Event 2024,” then you have access to both events. The same QR code or ticket will be used for registration at both the Cambodian International Business Exhibition 2024 (CIBE2024) and the John C. Maxwell Leadership Event 2024.

If your ticket only references one event, you’ll need a separate ticket or pass to attend the other event. Check your purchase confirmation carefully to ensure you have the correct access. If you’re uncertain, contact customer service or the event organizer for assistance.

On the other hand, if your ticket includes both events, you can use the same QR code or ticket for registration at each one. Be sure to bring your ticket or QR code to both events for smooth check-in and registration.

Remember to download the ticket before the event date. You will be able to find it in your email.

What should I bring to the event for check-in to receive my name badges?

To ensure a smooth registration process, please bring your QR code on your phone. This code will be scanned at the registration counters to verify your ticket and grant you access to the event.

Do download the ticket before the event. You can find the QR Code in the PDF sent to your email used to register for the event. Please download before the event to ensure a seamless process.

What is the difference between regular and VIP seating at the events?

VIP seating is located closer to the stage, offering a better view. The specific seating arrangements will be confirmed upon arrival at the event venue.

How do I get myself checked-in at the events? (On-site)

For standard delegates, there are self-help kiosks available for registration. You can use these kiosks to scan your ticket that has been emailed to you and print your customized name sticker.

For VVIP and VIP delegates, there are manned kiosks dedicated to handling registration. These kiosks offer personalized service and are designed to provide a seamless check-in experience. Just bring your ticket with the QR code that has been emailed to you for faster processing.

What is the QR code on my ticket for?

The QR code on your ticket is used to scan during registration. Once scanned, you’ll be able to print customized name stickers, which you can stick on your event badge that comes with a lanyard for identification.

What should I do with my event badge and lanyard after the John C. Maxwell event?

If you’re attending the Cambodia International Business Exhibition 2024 (CIBE2024), be sure to keep your event badge and lanyard after the John C. Maxwell event. These are necessary for your entry into CIBE2024.

Will lunch be provided during the event?

Yes, lunch is included for all attendees. Bento lunch boxes will be available during the designated lunch break, as specified in the event agenda. You can enjoy a convenient meal without leaving the venue.

For VVIPs & VIPs, you will have a private lunch during the lunch segment with John C. Maxwell. This exclusive arrangement differs from the Bento lunch boxes provided to standard attendees.

Can I get a replacement badge or lanyard on-site if needed?

Yes, if you need a replacement badge or lanyard, you can get one at the event registration desk, but it will cost $30 USD. To avoid delays and additional charges, ensure you keep your badge and lanyard with you at all times.

What happens if I lose my lanyard or name badge?

If you lose your lanyard or name badge, a replacement fee of $30 USD will be charged. To avoid this charge, keep your badge and lanyard safe throughout the events.

The existing QR code will be deactivated in the system and replaced with a new one.

What should I do if I can't find my ticket after payment?

If you can’t locate your ticket after payment, check your junk or spam folder in your email inbox. Automated emails sometimes end up in these folders. If you still can’t find your ticket, try searching for related keywords like the event name or registration confirmation. If it doesn’t appear, contact customer service or the event organizer to request a re-send.

What time should I arrive for the event?

It’s recommended to arrive at least 1 hour before the event starts. This allows ample time for registration and finding your seat, as a large crowd is expected. The auditorium has seating for 3,000 attendees, so early arrival helps ensure a smooth check-in and a better choice of seating.

Registration counters will open at 7:00 AM. Please have breakfast before arriving.

What time should VVIPs & VIPs register for the meet and greet on the 9th of May?

VVIPs & VIPs attending the meet and greet should register promptly at 7 AM. This early registration ensures you have adequate time to check in, collect your event materials, and enjoy the meet and greet experience. Arriving on time also allows for a smoother process, given the special arrangements for VIP attendees.

What is the best way to handle currency and payment in Cambodia?

We recommend bringing in only US dollars (USD). The Cambodian riel (KHR) is the official currency, but USD is widely accepted throughout the country, especially for larger transactions and international payments.

While riel is the local currency, USD is accepted almost everywhere, including stores, restaurants, hotels, and major transportation services. Using USD is often more convenient, especially for larger purchases.

For smaller transactions, bring a variety of USD denominations, particularly $10 bills. This will make it easier to pay for taxis, tuk-tuks, or small purchases without accumulating too much riel, which is often used for giving change.

Credit cards are accepted in many stores, restaurants, and hotels. However, smaller vendors, taxis, and tuk-tuks often prefer cash. If you use transportation apps like Grab or PassApp, you can pay with a card through the in-app payment gateway when booking, but cash is also commonly accepted. Having USD in smaller denominations will be useful for these situations.

Most businesses in Cambodia use KHQR, aka Khmer QR or ABA QR, a QR code-based payment system, but this typically requires a local bank account. If you don’t have a local bank, it’s best to use cash or credit card for transactions. To ensure smooth payments, make sure your credit card is ready for international use and offers favorable exchange rates. Contact your bank or card issuer to confirm there are no restrictions on overseas transactions and to understand any associated fees.

Which airport should I fly to for this event?

To attend the Cambodian International Business Exhibition 2024 (CIBE2024) or the John C. Maxwell Leadership Event 2024, you should fly to Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH). This airport is the main gateway to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, and offers easy access to the event venues and accommodations.

Phnom Penh International Airport is well-connected to the city center, providing various transportation options such as taxis, Grab, and PassApp. If you’re attending the John C. Maxwell event at the PH Grand Hall, or CIBE2024 at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, flying into Phnom Penh International Airport is the most convenient option.

What are the travel documents required to travel to Cambodia?

Please check if your country is exempt from requiring a visa to enter Cambodia. Cambodia has visa exemption agreements with several countries, allowing their citizens to enter for a limited time without a visa. These countries include Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Myanmar. If your country is on this list, you can enter Cambodia without a visa for the specified duration .

Source: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/information/visa_type/4

If your country does not have a visa exemption, don’t worry. You can obtain a visa for Cambodia by following these simple steps.

You have two main options for a Cambodian visa: apply online in advance through the eVisa system, or get a visa on arrival (VOA). VOA is available at Siem Reap and Phnom Penh international airports, and at several land border crossings with Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The VOA process involves filling out an application form, providing the required documents, and paying a fee in US dollars. Due to potential delays, many travelers opt for the eVisa, which provides approval before traveling.

To reduce wait times, consider applying for the Cambodia eVisa online(Recommended for first timers) before your trip. Allow sufficient time for your eVisa to be approved. Plan ahead and apply now .

If you choose a visa on arrival, ensure you have the following documents and items:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity and at least 2 blank pages
  • A completed VOA application form (available on the plane, at the airport, or at the land border). You can also apply for the eVisa in advance, ideally at least 1 week before arrival
  • A passport photograph (if you don’t have one, a passport scan can be done for a fee)
  • US dollars for the VOA fee (bring the exact amount)

These preparations will help ensure a smooth entry into Cambodia.

Will there be breakfast?

Breakfast will not be served for the John C. Maxwell Leadership Event. Please have your breakfast before arriving to ensure you have the best leadership learning experience!
